A cricket ball reaches from M to N after succesive displacement, calculate the total displacement given sin 37 degrees =0.60 and cos 37= 0.80

Let all vectors at a point m and resolve these vectors along x−axis and y−axis.

Explanation:

After getting resultant, we will able to get net displacement  

X= a cos (30) – 15 + 5 cos (37) =a√3/2−11

Y= a sin (30) + 7 − 5 sin (37) =a/2+4

So, resultant vector=√(X)2+(Y)2=√(a√3/2−11)2+√(a/2+4)2  

By putting value of ‘a’ you will get net displacement.
