Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given A cricket team of our school won 5 matches more than it lost. If won 3/5 of its matches

played, find how many matches did the team (i) play (ii) win (iii) lose

.Let the number of matches of school played be x

Given number of matches school won will be 3 x / 5

Number of matches it did not win will be 1 – 3 x / 5

                                                               = 2 x / 5

Also given the cricket team won 5 matches than it lost.

So 3 x / 5 = 2 x / 5 + 5

3 x / 5 – 2 x / 5 = 5

So x / 5 = 5

x = 25

So number of matches played will be 25

Number of matches won will be 3 x / 5 = 3 x 25 / 5 = 15

Number of matches lost will be 2 x / 5 = 2 x 25 / 5 = 10
