Then, number of matches won = x - 3.

Total matches = x + (x-3)= 2x-3

For winning, they got ( x *2) = 2x point

For lose, then got {(x-3)×(-1)

= (-x+3) points

so, total points be

=2x+(-x+3)

=2x-x+3

=x+3

By the given condition

x+3=25

x=25-3

x= 22

so, total number of matches played

=2x-3

=2 (22)-3

=44-3

=41 answer
