Solution!!

The concept of mean has to be used here. The observations and the number of observation are given. We have to find the mean of the observations.

Observations → 43, 88, 23, 56, 11

Total number of observations = 5

The given information is sufficient to find the mean. Let's do it!!

Mean = Sum of observations ÷ Number of observations

Mean = (43 + 88 + 23 + 56 + 11) ÷ 5

Mean = 221 ÷ 5

Mean = 44.2

Hence, the mean score of the cricketer is 44.2!!

More information:-

If you're asked to find the median, then there are 2 different formulae.

Median of odd number of observations = [(n + 1)/2]th term

Median of even number of observations = [(n/2)th term + ((n/2) + 1)th term] ÷ 2
