A crowbar having the length of 1.75 cm is used to balance a load of 500N and if the distance between the fulcrum and the load is 0.5 CM calculate effort applied to the balance load

Load =75kgf

Length of crowbar =1.5m

Effort arm =1m

So, Load Arm =Length of crowbar - Effort arm

⇒1.5−1=0.5m

mechanical advantage = Effort arm/ load arm =

1/0.5 = 2

Effort need = load/ mechanical advantage =

75/2 = 37.5 kgf
