Answer:

Explanation:

To determine : The weight of gold in crown

Given : Weight of crown in air   210 g

Weight of crown in water = 198 g

Specific gravity /density of gold = 19.3 g/cc

Specific gravity /density  of copper = 8.5 g /cc

Formula : Density=mass/volume

Calculation:

Loss of weight = 210 - 198 = 12 g

Therefore

Weight of the crown = volume of gold x density of gold + volume of copper × density of copper

mass of gold in crown+mass of copper in crown = 210---(1)

(mass ofgold)/19.3 + (mass of copper)/8.5 = 12---(2)

Solving both the equations (1) and (2)

We get

Weight of gold in crown is 193g .
