A crystal of copper sulphate is dropped in a glass of water and is allowed to settle at the bottom after sometime it is observed that the blue colour appears just about the solid crystal and with the passage of time whole water in the class turns blue identify the characteristics of particles of matter associated with this observation

The copper sulphate crystals have undergone crystallisation reaction and one formula unit of CuSO4 takes up 5 molecules of water. This causes blue color of CuSO4.

With passage of time the copper sulphate crystals dissolve in water to form aqueous CuSO4 solution and turns it blue.
