Correct Question -

A cube has a lateral surface area of 64sq.m.

Find the total surface area of a cube.

Solution -

We know that -

For a cube with an edge of a cm ,

Lateral Surface Area of Cube

=> 4a^2

Total surface area of Cube

=> 6a^2

Now , in this above Question , we have the following information -

A cube has a lateral surface area of 64sq.m

Let the edge of this cube be a m

=> 4a^2 = 64

=> a^2 = 16

=> a = 4 m

Hence the edge of the cube is 4 m

Now,

Total Surface area Of Cube

=> 6a^2

=> 6 × 16

=> 96 cm^2

Hence the total surface area of the cube is 96 cm^2
