Explanation:

First- You Calculate The Volume Of the Cube i.e. V= a³

Therefore, this particular cube has a side 5 cm.

V=(5)³, V=125 cm³

Second- You use the Density Formula i.e Density= Mass/Volume.

This particular cube has a mass of 250 grams.

So, D= 250/125

D=2 gram/cm³. And that's your Answer.

Given: A cube has side of 5 cm and mass of 250 grams. The density of water is 1g/cm^3.

To find: Density of cube and whether it will float on water

Explanation: Side= 5 cm

Volume= (side)^3

= 5^3

= 125 cm^3

Mass of cube= 250 g

Density of cube = Mass/ Volume

= 250 g/ 125 cm^3

= 2 g/cm^3

The density of water= 1g/cm^3

Any object whose density is less than water floats on it and any object whose density is greater than water sinks in it. Since its density is 2g/cm^3 , it sinks in water.

Therefore, the density of cube is 2g/cm^3 and it sinks in water.
