A cube is painted blue on all faces and it is cut into 64 small cubes of

8 cubes of the inner part would remain unpainted.The rest 56 would get painted on one/two or three sides depending upon their position. Explanation:-For a cube to get cut into 64 it's each side (length, breadth&height) should have 4 smaller cubes (4*4*4=64).The bigger cube could be supposed to have 4 layers of 4*4=16 cubes each.Now,when all the faces of the bigger cube get painted then the uppermost,lowermost (having a total of 32 smaller cubes get painted in some manner.Out of the inner two layers only the border smaller cubes get painted leaving 4*2=8 smaller cubes unpainted.
