cross multiply each of the terms

we get
let \:  a \: be \: x \: and \: b \: be \: y \: come \: lets \: start \\  \\  \frac{ {x}^{3}  - 1}{ {x}^{2}  - 2}  +  \frac{2}{x} cross \: multiply \: each \: of \: the \: terms \:  \: we \: get \\  \\  \frac{ {x}^{4}  - x}{ {2x}^{2} - 4 }  \\   =  \frac{( {x}^{2} {)}^{2}   -  {3}^{2} }{2( {x}^{2} - 2)  }
