A cube of 1m edge length is crushed in order to get small cubes of edge length 1mm. by which factor does the surface area increase ​

The volume of cube with 1000mm edge

V = 1000 × 1000 × 1000 mm°3

Let the number of cubes formed after crushing the original cube be n. The volume of total cubes thus formed will be

V1 = n(1 × 1 ×1) mm^3

Mathematically V= V1

n = 10^9

The surface area of the original cube

S = 6(1000 ×1000) mm^2

Where as that of the cubes formed after crushing the original cube

S1 = 6 × 10^9 (1×1)

Therefore factor of increase

F = 6×10^9/6×10^6 = 1000

F = 1000
