Given :  Edge of cube = 9 cm

Length of base of rectangular vessel , l = 15 cm

Breadth of base of rectangular vessel , b = 12 cm

Volume of cube ,V = edge³

V = 9 × 9 × 9

V = 729 cm³

Area of base of vessel = l × b =  15×12 = 180 cm²

So, rise of water in vessel , h = Volume of cube/ area of base

h = 729/180

h = 4.05 cm

Hence, the rise in water level in the vessel is 4.05 cm.
