here, we must equate volumes,

volume of starting cube = 6×6×6 cm^3

let x be sides of new cubes,

volume of each new cube = x^3

evaluating volumes, we get

6×6×6 = 27× x^3
x^3 = 8
x=2

so, sode of new cubes are 2 cm each

anjali214: please explain how did 6×6×6 became 27
MrMk: there are 27 new cubes
MrMk: so, volume of old cube (6×6×6) became equal to volune of all new cubes (27× x × x × x)
MrMk: got it?
anjali214: ya
MrMk: then, please mark it brainliest, if you understood the solution

Given,

Edge of the lead cube = 6 cm

The cube is melted into 27 equal cubes.

To Find,

Edge of the new cube.

Solution,

Since the same cube is melted into 27 equal cubes So, the volume will remain the same

The volume of the big cube = 27*volume of the new cube

Let the edge of the new cube be x cm

So,

6*6*6 = 27*x³

x³ = 8

x = ∛8 = 2 cm
Hence, the edge of the new cube is 2 cm.
