A cube of lead with edges measuring 6cm each is melted and formed into 27 equla cubes what is length of the edges of new cubes

We know when an object is transformed to another object(s) then volume of both object(s) is equal.

Here a cube of 6 cm edge is melted to form 27 small cubes

Let the edge of new cubes be x each

∴ Volume of Cube which was melted = Volume of newly formed 27 cubes

We know that volume of cube = side³

∴ 6³ = 27 × x³

27 x³ = 216

x³ = 216/27

x³ = 8

x = 2

∴ Edge of each new cube is 2 cm
