A cube of side 100 cm is placed in a uniform electric field of 5 N/C such that the electric filed lines enter normal to one face of the cube. what is the net flux passing through the cube?

Answer:

Gauss's theorem states that total electric flux through a closed surface enclosing a charge is 1/ε 0 times of the total charge enclosed by the surface ,

ϕ=Q/ε 0

It is clear that only charge q 2 and q 4

are enclosed by the Gaussian surface therefore only these two charges will contribute to electric flux through the sphere .
