let the no. of cubes =x

volume of larger cube=6×6×6=216

volume of smaller cube=2×2×2=8

volume of larger cube = volume of all smaller cubes

216=8x

x=216/8=27

hope it helps

Answer:

Total number of cubes formed is 27

****

To find:

Number of cubes which can be formed from a cube of side 6 cm

****

Solution:

Side of the cube before cutting it into pieces = 6 cm

Volume =6³ = 216

Side of the each small cube formed from the 6 cm cube = 2 cm

Volume = 2³ =8

Let us assume that the number of cubes is N.

As there is no wastage ,

Volume of bigger volume is equal to volume of smaller cubes

216 = N × 8

N= 216 / 8 = 27

Therefore, Number of cubes formed from the bigger cube is 27
