A cube of side length 8 cmn is taken and small cubes of 2 cm length are cut along all the eight corners
of the cube. By what percentage does the total surface area of the cube changes?​

Side (a) of cube =8 cm

Volume of cube = (a)3 = 512 cm

Let the side of the smaller cube be a1.

volume of smaller cube

(2)3=8

total no. of cubes= 512/8=64

total surface of smaller cube=6(edge)2

6(2)2=6×4=(24 cm)2

total surface area=24×64=1536cm3

percent = 1536/512×100=300%
