A cubical block of edge 2cm and mass 5 kg is kept on a table top . Calculate, (i) The thrust of the block on the table. (ii) The pressure of the block on the table top. ​

= 0.02m.

Now, 1) Thrust = mg = 5× 9.8 = 49 N

2) Pressure =

thrust ÷ area

49 \div (0.02) \times (0.02 \times 0.02)

= 1,22,500 N/m²

= 1.225 × 10^5 N/m² or Pa.
