A cubical box with lid has a length of 30cm.

We have to find the cost of painting the inside and outside of the box at 5.5 per .

Since thickness of sheet used to made cubical box is not given, area of outside of the box will be equal to area of inside of the box.

so, Total area of box = area of outside of the box + area of inside of the box

= 6 × a² + 6a²

= 12a²

here a = edge length of box = 30 cm = 0.3 m

= 12 × (0.3)²

= 12 × 0.09

= 1.08 m²

∵ The rate of painting = ₹5.5 per m²

∴ Total cost = rate × total area

= 5.5 × 1.08

= ₹5.94

Therefore the cost of painting the inside and outside of the box is ₹5.94.

5.94

Step-by-step explanation:

A cubical box with lid has a length of 30cm.

We have to find the cost of painting the inside and outside of the box at 5.5 per m².

Since thickness of sheet used to made cubical box is not given, area of outside of the box will

be equal to area of inside of the box.

so, Total area of box = area of outside of the box + area of inside of the box

= 6 x a² + 6a²

= 12a²

here a = edge length of box = 30 cm = 0.3 m

= 12 × (0.3)²

= 12 × 0.09

= 1.08 m²

The rate of painting = 5.5 per m²

... Total cost = rate x total area

= 5.5 x 1.08

= 5.94
