A cuboidal block of metal has dimensions 36 cm, 32 cm and 0.25 m. It is melted and recast into cubes with an edge of 4 cm. How many such cubes can be made?
Which is the best cement for building your home?
A cuboidal block is melted & recast into cubes.
So volume is required in both figures.
Volume of a cuboid L x B x H
L =36 cm, B= 32 cm , H = 0.25 m =0 .25 * 100 = 25cm
Volume of cuboid =
36*32*25 cm^3(Substituting the values)
Volume of a cube L^3
Edge ( length ) = 4cm
= 4*4*4 cm^3
To find the number of cubes = Volume of a cuboid ÷ Volume of a cube
= (36*32*25) ÷ (4*4*4)
= 450 cubes
