volume of the cubical vessel=216cm³

therefore side³=216cm³

→ side = ³√216

→ side = 6cm

verification:-

volume of the cubical box=side³

= 6×6×6

= 36×6

= 216cm³

hence verified

thus the side of the cubical box is 6cm.

we have to find the area of metal required to make the box without the lid.

so we have to find it's CSA+1base

let a be the side of the cubical box

CSA+1base of cubical box=5a²

= 5×(6)²

= 5×36

= 180cm²

hence 180cm² of metal is required.
