\huge\underline{\underline{\tt Explanation:}}

\sf{\green{\underline{Given:}}}

  • Cubical wooden block was cut into 8 equal pieces.
  • Length of the cubical wooden block = 12 cm

\sf{\green{\underline{To\:Find:}}}

  • The side of new cube.

\textbf{\underline{\underline{Solution:}}}

Cubical wooden block of side 12 cm was cut into 8 equal cubical pieces. Let each cubical piece has side ' x '. AS these cubes were cut into equal pieces. So, It's obvious that they have equal volume.

→ volume of cubical wooden block = volume of 8 equal cubes

Volume of cube = ( side )³

Now,

( 12 )³ = 8 ( x )³

→ 1728 = 8x³

 x^3 =\dfrac{1728}{8}

 x^3 =216

→  x = ∛216

x = 6

Hence, Length of each piece is 6 cm.
