So, Volume of block is
$= 10 \times 10 \times 10 = 1000cm {}^{3}$
Now ,Edge of hollow is 4cm
So, Volume is
$4 \times 4 \times 4 = 64cm {}^{3}$
Hence , Volume of wood is
$1000 - 64 = 936cm {}^{3}$
