Number of cubes lengthwise = 5 ÷ 1 = 5 cubes

Number of cubes breadthwise = 2 ÷ 1 = 2 cubes

Number of cubes heightwise = 1 ÷ 1 = 1 cube

.

Total number of cubes = 5 x 2 x 1 = 10 cubes

.

Answer: 10 cubes

Answer:

Given that :

Dimensions of a cuboidal block of wood = 5m × 2m × 1m

Dimensions of the cubes = 1m × 1m × 1m

To find :

Number of cubes can be cut

Formula to be used :-

Volume of Cube

Solution:

Putting all the values, we get

Number of cubes =  Volume of the cuboidal piece/Volume of the cube

Number of cubes = (5 × 2 × 1)/(1 × 1 × 1)

Number of cubes = 10 cubes

Hence, the number of cubes are 10 cubes.
