The ratio of the volumes of cuboid and cube is :

→ 5 : 4

{{\underline{\underline{{\textsf{\textbf{Explanation : }}}}}}}

Step 1:

Given dimensions of the cuboid :

l (length) = 36 metres.

b (breadth) = 12 metres.

h (height) = 5 metres.

Volume of a cuboid is given by :

l × b × h

  • Representing \sf {V}_{1} as the volume of the cuboid.

\sf {V}_{1} = 36*12*5

\sf {V}_{1} = 2160m³

Step 2:

Given dimension of the cube :

edge = 12 metres

We know that,

➡ Volume of a cube : (edge)³

  • Representing \sf {V}_{2} as the volume of the cube.

\sf {V}_{2} = (12)³

\sf {V}_{2} = 12*12*12

\sf {V}_{2} = 1728m³

Step 3:

➡ Ratio of their volumes :

\sf {V}_{1} : \sf {V}_{2}

→ 2160 : 1738

→ 5 : 4 ans.

The ratio is 5 : 4
