Your answer
-------------------
External dimensions of a cuboidal box= 47 cm × 35 cm × 15 cm
Thickness of the box = 1.5 cm
Then,
----------
Internal dimensions : -
Length = [47 - (2×1.5)] cm = 44 cm
Breadth = [35 - (2× 1.5)] cm = 32 cm
As it is not mentioned that the box is closed or open , we are assuming it to be closed.
Height = [15 - (2×1.5)] cm = 12 cm
So,
------
Capacity of the box = Internal volume
= ( 44 × 32 × 12 ) cm³
= 16896 cm³
Again,
------------
Volume of the wood = External volume - Internal volume
= [ ( 47 × 35 × 15) - (44 × 32 × 12) ] cm³
= [ 24675 - 16896 ] cm³
= 7779 cm³
