A Cuboidal fish tank has a length of 30 cm , 20 cm and a height of 20 cm . The tank is placed on a horizontal table and it is three - quarters full of water . Find the area of the tank which is in contact with water

Area of base=600cm2
Perimeter of base =2(l+b)=100cm
Three quarters is filled with water
=>Up to aheight of 15 cm
=>Area of tank in contact with the water
=Perimeter of base × height of water column+area of base
=100 × 15 + 600
=2100cm2

Volume of tank

30x20x20=12000cm3

=12dcm3

1dcm3=1l

12dcm3=12l

3/4 full=12×3/4=9l=9dcm3=9000cm3

9000/30×20=15cm

Surface area

2(lb+bh+lh)

=2700cm2
