Question :-

A cyclist goes around a circular path once every 2 minutes . If the radius of the circular path is 105 meters . Calculate the speed of the cyclist ?

Answer :-

Given :-

A cyclist goes around a circular path once every 2 minutes .

Radius of the circular path = 105 meters

Required to find :-

  • Speed of the cyclist ?

Formula used :-

\rm{\bf{ Speed = \dfrac{ Distance}{ Time } }}

Solution :-

Given information :-

A cyclist goes around a circular path once every 2 minutes .

Radius of the circular path = 105 meters

we need to find the speed of the cyclist .

In order to find the speed we need to know the distance & time .

So,

Let's find the distance and time

Here,

we need to apply a bit logic . The logic is that ;

The cyclist goes around a circular path . which means he goes around the boundary of the circular path .

which gives us a clue that ;

If we calculate the perimeter/circumference of the circular path then we can find the distance .

This is because,

Distance travelled by the cyclist = Perimeter of the cyclist

So,

Using the formula ;

Perimeter of the circle = 2 π r

=> 2 x 22/7 X 105

=> 2 x 22 x 15

=> 44 x 15

=> 660 meters

Hence,

  • Distance = 660 meters

Now let's find the time ;

Since it is mentioned that ,

A cyclist goes around a circular path once every 2 minutes .

so, it means that he takes 2 minutes to go around around the circular path

Hence,

  • Time = 2 minutes

Now,

let's convert this time from minutes to seconds .

Because, the distance in given in terms of meters .

So,

1 minute = 60 seconds

2 minutes = ?

=> 2 x 60

=> 120 seconds

Using the formula ;

\rm{\bf{ Speed = \dfrac{ Distance}{ Time } }}

Speed = 660/120

Speed = 66/12

speed = 33/6

Speed = 5.5 m/s

Therefore,

Speed of the cyclist = 5.5 m/s

✴ A cyclist goes around a circular path once every 2 min. if the radius of the track is 105 m. Calculate the speed.

\mathcal{\huge{\fbox{\green{AnSwEr:-}}}}

The speed of a cyclist goes around a circular path is 5.5 m/s.

\mathcal{\huge{\fbox{\purple{Solution:-}}}}

The Radius of track, (r) = 105 m

Time took to complete a revolution (t) = 2min

= 120 second

We know ,

The circumference or distance of circle = 2πr

⇒2×22/7×105

⇒ 2 × 330

660 m

speed = distance / time

⇒660 m/ 120

5·5m/s

▶ The Circumference of circle is the perimeter of a circle or the measure of its boundary.

  • Circumference of circle = 2πr

▶ The speed is the distance travelled per unit time by a body.

  • Speed = Dist./Time
