area of vegetable garden = 1200 sq.m - (area of house + area of pond)

area of house = l × b
= 15 × 12 = 180 sq.m
area of pond = l × b
= 20 × 15 = 300 sq.m

area of vegetable garden = 1200 - ( 180 + 300 )
= 1200 - 480 = 720 sq.m

Hope this helps ^_^
