Let the cost of coffee be x

So.

  • Cost of a cup of tea = x - 10cents
  • Cost of a cup of hot chocolate = x + 20cents

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••☆☆

Answer of 1st part :

3 (x) + 5 ( x - 10 ) + 2 ( x + 20) = $ 8.90

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••☆☆

○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○

Answer of 2nd part :

==> 3x + 5x - 50 + 2x + 40 = $ 8.90

==> ( 3x + 5x + 2x ) - 50 + 40 = $ 8.90

==> 10x - 10 = $ 8.90

==> 10x = $ 18.90

==> x = $ 18.90 / 10

==> x = $ 1.89

○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○
