Answer:

The resistance at 80°C is 62.8Ω

Explanation:

In the context to the given question we have to find resistance of the coil at 80⁰C

given,

T₁ = 0⁰C.

T₂ = 80⁰C.

R₁  = 40 Ω

R₂ = ?

∝ = 0.0040   °C⁻¹

We know that;

temperature coefficient (∝)  =( R₂ -R₁) / R₁ (T₂ -T₁)

∝=( R₂ -R₁) / R₁ (T₂ -T₁)

0.0040 =(R₂-40) / 40 ( 80-0)

0.0040 =(R₂-40) / 3200

(R₂-40) = 3200 x 0.0040

(R₂-40) = 12.8

R₂ = 12.8 +40 = 62.8 Ω

The resistance at 80°C is 62.8 Ω .
