Given

Current flowing through resistor = 0.2 A

Resistance = 200 ohm.

Time = 5 minutes.

To find

Heat produced in resistor

Solution

Here, time = 5 minutes.

[1 minute = 60 seconds]

⇒ Time = (5 × 60) s

Time = 300 s

We know formula

H = I²Rt

Where,

  • H = Heat produced
  • I = Current
  • R = Resistor
  • t = Time

Putting values we get :

➻ H = [(0.2)² × 200 × 300] j

➻ H = [0.04 × 200 × 300] j

➻ H = 2400 j

H = 2.4 kJ

Heat produced in resistor = 2400 J or 2.4 kJ

Answer:

Time= 5 minutes .

1 minute = 60 seconds

=Minutes × Seconds

=5 minutes × 60 seconds

= 300 seconds

Formula :

H = I^2Rt

Put the values:

H = [(0.2)^2 × 200 × 300)] j

H = [0.4 × 200 × 300] j

H = 2400j

H = 2.4 kg j

Therefore the heat produced in resistor = 2400 j

and 2.4 kg j.
