Solution - Paid price = actual price + GST on actual price

Let the actual price be x.

According to the question -

1620 = x + 8%*x

x + 8x/100 = 1620

Taking LCM, we get 100

$\frac{100x + 8x}{100} = 1620$

Performing addition and multiplication to find the value of x

$108x = 1620 \times 100$

$108x = 162000$

$x = \frac{162000}{108}$

Performing division to find the value of x

$x = 1500$

Therefore, actual price is Rupees 1500.
