Answer:

i) 775 cycles

ii) 4375 cycles

Step-by-step explanation:

For 10th year we need to find for first year.

So, 3rd year => a+2d =600————(i)

7th year => a+6d =700————(ii)

now, after subtracting (i) and (ii)

a+6d =700

- a+2d =600

——————

4d =100

and d =100

4

therefore d=25.

Now, put the value of d in eq. (i)

a+2(25)=>600

a+50=>600

a=>600-50

a=>550

production in 1st year is 550.

i) 10th year can be written as:

=>a+9d

=>550 + 9(25)

=>550+225

=>775.

production in 10th year is 775 Cycles.

ii) using formula n [ 2a + ( n-1 )d ]

2

n=7

a=550

d=25

total production=>7 [ 2(550) + (7-1)25 ]

2

=>7 [1250]

2

=>4375.

total production in 7 years is 4375.
