The marked price of the cycle is Rs. 2880

Explanation

Suppose, the cost price of the cycle is x

As the profit is 20% of the cost price, so the amount of profit = x*0.20= 0.20x and this amount of profit is given as Rs. 360

That means.....

0.20x=360\\ \\ x= \frac{360}{0.20} =1800

So, the cost price of the cycle is Rs. 1800

Now, the sales price = cost price + profit

                                  = Rs. 1800 + Rs. 360 = Rs. 2160

Lets assume, the marked price of the cycle is y

The merchant allows 25% discount on the marked price. So, the amount of discount =0.25y

Now as Sales price = Marked price - Amount of discount , so the equation will be......

y-0.25y= 2160\\ \\ 0.75y=2160\\ \\ y= \frac{2160}{0.75}=2880

So, the marked price of the cycle is Rs. 2880
