Answer:

-750N

Explanation:

Given :

Mass of the cycle = 15kg

Initial velocity of the cycle  = 10m/s

Distance travelled = 10m

Final velocity of the cycle = 0m/s

To Find :

Force  = ?

Solution :

\sf{}We\ know\ F=ma

Here F is force applied

m is the mass of the object

a is the acceleration

Acceleration is not given,so let’s find it’s acceleration.

According to the third equation of motion

\sf{} v^2-u^2=2as

Here v  is the final velocity.

u is the initial velocity

a is the acceleration

\sf{}\implies 0-10^2=2\times a\times 10

\sf{}\implies -100=20a

\sf{}\implies -\dfrac{100}{20}=a

\sf{}\therefore a=-50m/s^2

Thus force,

\sf{}\implies Force= 15kg\times -50m/s^2

\sf{}\implies Force= -750N

Therefore, the force of friction between the road and the cycle is -750N
