Answer :

Distance travelled by cycle in 24 revolutions is 4224 cm or 42.24 m

Explanation :

Given:-

  • A cycle wheel has a radius of 28 cm
  • Total number of revolutions taken by cycle is 24

Find:-

Distance travelled by cycle in one revolution.

Solution:-

Radius of the cycle of the wheel is 28 cm.

We know that wheel of cycle is in shape of circle. So, we have to find the circumference of the circle.

Circumference of circle (cycle) = 2πr

\rightarrow\:\sf{2\:\times\:\dfrac{22}{7}\:\times\:28}

\rightarrow\:\sf{44\:\times\:4}

\rightarrow\:\sf{176\:cm}

Now,

Distance travelled by cycle = Circumference of cycle + Total number of revolutions taken by cycle.

We have -

  • Circumference of cycle = 176 cm
  • Total number of revolutions taken by cycle= 24

Substitute the known values in above formula

\implies\:\sf{176\:\times\:24}

\implies\:\sf{4224\:cm}

Now, to convert cm into m. Divide by 100.

\rightarrow\:\sf{Distance\:travelled\:by\:cycle\:=\:\dfrac{4224}{100}}

\rightarrow\:\sf{Distance\:travelled\:by\:cycle\:=\:42.24\:m}

\Large\underline{\underline{\sf{Given}:}}

  • Radius of wheel = 28cm .

  • How much distance it will cover in one revolution ?
  • How much distance it will cover in 24 revolution .

\Large\bold\star\underline{\underline\textbf{Formula\:used}}

  • when a wheel cover one revolution it will cover the distance equals to circumference of the circle ..
  • circumference of circle is equal to 2πr , where r is radius of wheel .

\Large\underline{\underline{\sf{Solution}:}}

___________________

As told above , in one revolution wheel will cover distance equal to circumference of wheel ....

so,

Circumference of wheel with radius given 28cm is given by,

 \green{C = 2\pi \times r} \\  \\  \red\leadsto \: C \:  = 2 \times  \frac{22}{ \cancel7}  \times  \cancel{28} \\  \\ \red\leadsto \blue{C \:  = \: 2 \times 22 \times 4} \\  \\ \red\leadsto \orange{C \: = 176} \: cm

 \red{\textbf{hence  the wheel  will  cover  176cm}}  \\  \\  \red{\textbf{in \: one \: revolution.}}

Now, we have to Find how much distance it will cover in 24 revolution ?

Required answer = one revolution × 24

  \red\leadsto \: D \:  = 176 \times 24 \\  \\ \red\leadsto \pink{ D \:  = \: 4224cm} \\  \\ now \: we \: know \: that \:  \\  \\  \red{\large\boxed{\bold{100cm = 1m}}} \\  \\ so \\  \\ \red\leadsto \: D \:  =  \frac{4224}{100}  \\  \\\red\leadsto \:  \large\boxed{\bold{  D= 42.24m}} \:

\textbf{Hence, the distance covered by wheel}

\textbf{in 24 revolution is 42.24m}
