Given:

A cycle wheel of radius 0.5 m is rotated with constant velocity of 10 rad/sec in a region of magnetic field of 0.1 T

To find:

Which is perpendicular to the plane of the wheel the emf generated between its centre and the rim is...

Solution:

From given, we have,

The magnetic field = B = 0.1 T

The radius of a cycle wheel = r = 0.5 m

The rotational velocity = w = 10 rad/sec

We use the formula,

Induced EMF is given by,

∈ = 1/2Bwr²

substituting the given data, we get,

∈ = 1/2 × 0.1 × 10 × (0.5)²

∴∈ = 0.125 volt

The emf generated between its centre and the rim is 0.125 volt.

The emf at all the points will remain the same.
