A cyclist accelerates from 0 m/s to 7 m/s in 3 seconds. What is his acceleration? Is this acceleration higher than that of a car that accelerates from 0 to 20 m/s in 8 seconds?

Explanation:

Accleration of the bicycle-

Initial velocity,u-0m/s

Final velocity,v-7m/s

Time taken,t-3seconds

Acceleration,a= Final velocity-Intial velocity/Time taken

a=7-0/3

a=2.33 m/s²

Acceleration of the car -

Initial velocity,u-0m/s

Final velocity,v=20 m/s

Time taken,t=8 seconds

Acceleration,a=Final velocity-Initial velocity/Time taken

a=20-0/8

a=2.5 m/s²

Clearly the acceleration the car is more than that of the bicycle.
