Given that,

A cyclist completes two rounds of a circular track of radius r.

To find,

(a) Distance and (b) displacement of the cyclist.

Solution,

We know that distance covered by an object is the total path traveled while the displacement is equal to the shortest path covered.

Distance covered by cyclist in two complete round,

Distance = 2C, C is circumferance

=2\times 2\pi r=4\pi r

After completing two rounds, the cyclist reaches at the starting position. It means that the displacement is equal to 0.
