a cyclist cycles for t seconds at a speed of 3 metre per second and then for the same time at a speed of 5 metre per second along a straight road due north what is the average speed of the cyclist

time = t second

speed'1=3m/s

speed'2=5m/s

distance '1 = speed ×T

= 3×t = 3t m

distance '2 = speed ×time

= 5×t =5t m

a.v= total distance covered /total time taken

=5t+3t/t+t

8t/2t=4

hence a.v =4m/s

Answer:

The average speed of the cyclist = 4m/s.

Step-by-step explanation:

Speed exists described as. The rate of change in the situation of an object in any direction. Speed exists estimated as the ratio of distance to the time in which the distance stood covered. Speed exists as a scalar quantity as it has just direction and no magnitude.

Let, time = t second

Total time exists at 2t.

Total distance exists 3t+ 5t.

time = t second

speed'1 = 3m/s

speed'2 = 5m/s

Distance = speed × Time

Distance '1 = speed × Time

= 3×t = 3t m

Distance '2 = speed ×time

= 5×t =5t m

The average speed exists the total distance separated by the total time:

Average speed = total distance covered /total time taken

3t/2t + 5t/2t =4.

8t/2t = 4

Hence, the average speed of the cyclist = 4m/s.
