Given: circumference = 343m,

          time = 10 second

To find: The angle made by him with the vertical.

Solution: Circumference = 2πr, where r is the radius of the circle.

radius = circumference/ 2π

          = 343/2×3.14

          = 54.6m

velocity of the cyclist is given by-

velocity = distance / time

             = 343/ 10 = 34.3 ms⁻¹

According to the circular motion, tanθ = rg/v

                                                     , tanθ = 54.6×10/34.3

                                                     , θ = tan⁻¹[546/34.3]

                                                     , θ = tan⁻¹[16]

Therefore, the angle made by him with the vertical is tan⁻¹[16]

  • The circular motion is a type of periodic motion in which the body follows a circular path, that is the distance from a fixed point remains constant.
