Average speed = Total distance÷Toatal time taken

S = d ÷ t

remember that distance should be in meters and time should be in seconds.

But in this question, time is in minutes, so we have to convert it first.

4 × 60 = 240 seconds

then, apply the formula

S = d÷t

= 100 ÷ 240

=0.42 m/s
