A cyclist moving on a circular track of radius 50m he complete one revolution in 4minutes

Solution :-

As per the given data ,

  • Radius of the circular track = 50 m
  • Time taken to complete 1 revolution = 4 min = 4 x 60 = 240 s

Distance is the actual path  covered by the object .

It is a scalar quantity .

Distance covered by the cyclist = Circumference of the circular path

We know that ,

➜ Circumference of the circular path  = 2 π r

➜ Circumference of the circular path  = 2 x 3.14 x 50 = 314 m

➜ Distance covered = 314 m

➜ Average speed = total distance / total time taken

➜ Average speed = 314 / 240

➜ Average speed = 1.3 m/s

The average speed of the cyclist is 1.3 m/s

Displacement is the shortest distance traveled by the body between it's initial and final position .

As the initial and the final position of the cyclist is the same .

➜ Displacement = 0

➜ Average velocity = Displacement / time

➜ Average velocity = 0 / 240

➜ Average velocity = 0

Solution

Given ,

  • the radius of the circular track is 50m .
  • complete one revolution in 4 minutes .

To find ,

  • who have to find here the average speed
  • the average velocity 1in 1 fall revolution

Now ,

distance = circumference of the circle

=> Distance = 2πr

=> distance = 2×3.14×50

=> distance = 314 m

Now ,

  • converting the time from minutes to seconds .

=> 4×60 = 240seconds

a) to find average speed we know we have to use the formula ;

=> Average speed = Total distance / total time taken

  • solving and putting the value in this we get ;

=> 314/240 = 1.308m/s

Now ,

  • displacement = completing one Revolution and comes back to its initial position again

So ,

  • to find the average velocity we know that we have to use the formula

=> average velocity = total displacement / time taken

  • solving and putting the value we get ;

=> 0/240

=> 0 m/sec

The average speed is 1.308m/s and the average velocity is 0m/sec .
