Explanation:

Given,

u=5m/s

v=0 m/s

s=3 m

By third equation of motion,

v²-u²=2as

=>(0)²-(5)²=2×a×3

=>0-25=6a

=>-25=6a

=>6a =-25

=>a= -25/6=>a =-4.16 m/s²

By first equation of motion,

v=u+at

=>0=5+(-4.16)×t

=>0=5 -4.16 ×t

=0=0.84 ×t

=>0=0.84t

=>t=0.84s
