Let the distance between A and B is 'x' km

Speed of car from A to B (u) = 15 km/hr

Time (T1) = x/15

Also,

Distance between B and A is 'x' km

Speed of car from B to A (v) = 20 km/he

Time(T2) = x/20

Total Time = T1 + T2

= x/15 + x/20

= 4x + 3x / 60

= 7x/60

Total Distance Covered = x+x = 2x

Average Speed = Total Distance Covered / Total Time Taken

= 2x × 60 / 7x

= 120/7

= 17.14 km/hr.....
