A cyclist travel a distance of

  • 1km in the first hour
  • 0.5km in the second hour
  • 0.3km in the third hour

Avg. Speed

= Total Distance / Total time

= (1 km + 0.5 km + 0.3 km) / 3 s

= (1000 + 500 + 300) m / 3 s

= 1800 / 3

= 600 m/s
