Answer:

Initial velocity of cyclist ,u=72km/h= 20m/s

Final velocity of cyclist v=0( since it comes to rest)

time taken=5sec

acceleration,a =?

a =  \frac{v - u}{t}  \\  =  \frac{0 - 72}{5}  =  \frac{ - 72}{5}  =  - 14.4 \frac{m}{sec {}^{2} }

hence his acceleration is = -14.4m/sec²

Initial velocity (u) = 72 km/hr = 20 m/s
Final velocity (v) = 0 m/s
Time (t) = 5 seconds
Acceleration (a) = ??

v = u + at
0 = 20 + a(5)
20 + 5a = 0
5a = -20
a = -20/5
a = -4 m/s^2

This is your answer hope it helps
