a cyclist travelling at a uniform speed covers a distance of9 km in 30 min .find the speed of the cyclist in ms-1

• we should calculate the speed of the cyclist

• we know speed = distance / time taken

here distance = 9 km = 9000 meter
time = 30 min =( 30 X 60 ) seconds.

• speed = 9000 / 30 X 60

• speed = 5 m/s

therefore, the speed of the cyclist is 5m/s

30 min=0.5 hr
speed=distance/time=9/0.5=18km/hour
18 km/hour=18×5/18=5ms-1
